I am asked repeatedly for instructions on tying a great knot. Here is the easiest and strongest knot there is. Fast, strong, and easy to learn, the Palomar Knot. Learn this one and help your fishing a lot.

Walt Reynolds, Touring Pro

Double about 8 inches of your line and  pass the  loop through the eye.

While letting the hook or lure hang loose, tie an overhand knot in the doubled line. Try to avoid twisting the lines. Do not tighten the knot yet.

Pull the loop of the line far enough to pass it over hook, swivel or lure. Make sure the loop passes over completely.

Be sure to wet your line before pulling tight to keep line crimp to a minimum.

Tighten by pulling on both the tag end and the main line. Trim to about 1/8".
