Vacationing fishermen usually don't have the luxury of time to learn a new lake. But there are some common-sense steps you can take before ever leaving home that will make your limited time more valuable.

Study a map of the lake so that you understand how to navigate it and find areas likely to hold bass during that particular season. Then, prepare your tackle, buy extra lures, sharpen hooks, re-line reels and check out the boat. Make phone calls to the local boat docks operators and guides in the area and you can prepare yourself surprisingly well for before you ever see lake.

Here are a couple of links that may help in finding information.

Have a great vacation and good fishing.
